Ossuccio
Ossuccio is a town of pre-Roman origins located on Lake Como. In its hamlet of Ospedaletto stands the well-known bell tower of the church of Santa Maria Maddalena. On the Sacro Monte, above the village of Ossuccio, the 16th century Sanctuary of the Vergine del Soccorso preserves a venerated statue of the Virgin. In the oratory of San Giacomo, a small Romanesque church with a single apse from the 11th and 12th centuries, some of the oldest frescoes in the area are preserved. Opposite Ossuccio is the Comacina Island.
